Can anyone help with what I think is an immobiliser fault on my Chrysler Voyager?

I posted a question last Monday 9 Aug 2010 but as yet has had no response. My Chrysler Voyager is completely immobilised at the moment. The red light is permanently on and there is no ticking over of the engine when I turn the key. Absolutely nothing is happening. Also, the petrol light came on two weeks ago even though the tank is half full. The guy who recovered my car home said I should have the immobiliser removed. Was he joking or is this possible?

If our technical expert has not been able to help you then he is stumped by this. You could try posting in Technical Matters in The Backroom, or using a paid advice service. Off the top of my head I have once or twice got away with locating a connecting block to the immobiliser and separating it. I still got a red light but at least the car would start and run.
