Does the three-month warranty still apply to my Volkswagen Golf GTI if the new timing belt snaps?

I just bought a Volkswagen Golf GTI and I have a warranty of either 3000 miles or three months. Trouble is, the garage serviced the car before I bought it and changed the timing belt and pulleys. It is documented in the service book. If the belt snaps, will it be out of warranty after 3000 miles or three months? Will it still be under warranty from the garage?

The garage is liable for any faults that occur with the car for six months anyway as the law assumes they were developing at the time of sale, and it's virtually impossible for the dealer to prove otherwise.
