How do I claim back expenses from Renault for a breached contract?

An old Renault Zoe was advertised for £9000 on the Renault website (for orders placed till 31 December 2016). My local dealers did not do the deal, but Renault put me in touch with one less than 100 miles away. I travelled there and ordered in October. However, in November I was told that the car is no longer produced, and the dealer could not provide me with a car despite agreeing a contract. My deposit was refunded. However, I remain out of pocket, as I have lost a day of work to travel plus petrol cost. I have written to Renault but had no reply. I wonder whether the deal ever actually existed? Do you have any suggestion about how I can get the out of pocket expenses back and hold Renault accountable for a breached contract?
