How can I get my HGV driving job back after a drink-driving ban?

Has anyone succeeded in gaining employment after completing a drink-driving ban? If so, how did you do this? I have been an LGV1 driver for twenty-two years and had a blip after a death in the family. Am I to find a new job?

The problem is both the character of someone with a DUI and the insurance cost. You might find that the way back in is to go and contract self-employed as a courier with a leased van, where you bear the increased insurance costs.
