Is there anything I can do about my rusting 2000 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

I took delivery of a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class and have only just read your article. The car is a C180 Elegance and is dated 11/08/2000 in the EEC certificate of conformity. Initial registration 16/1/01. I have the service history. I took it to a bodyshop today and he said go to Mercedes-Benz, as the wings are rusting from the inside, and the bonnet and roof show spiders, not stone chips. He has just finished one but they only paid for the wings. Could you please add anything to this?

Nothing to add. Mercedes-Benz unwisely introduced its 30-year Mobilo warranty at the same time as it cut quality and now cannot afford to meet all the claims for rusting bodywork, so it has restricted these.
