Toyota Auris steering fault
I purchased a a used Auris HSD in 2013 from a Toyota dealer with a full service history and three years Toyota warranty remaining. I have had the car fully serviced with a Toyota main dealer last November and told them about a strange noise from the steering wheel. The dealer informed me that they could not hear it or find any fault.
The car went in for its following service last week and to my surprise I was informed that it need a new steering shaft as it was knocking. The repair will cost £600. I asked the dealer if this could be repaired under warranty as it had been complained about in November 2015. They spoke to Toyota who said that it was out of warranty in March 2016 and wouldn't be considered for a warranty fix. What would you recommend I do?

If you bought the car from the same Toyota dealer you took it to for service who denied the fault while the car was under warranty and then found it when the car was not under warranty you have a good case to sue him. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ If the purchase and the service and the eventual fault finding was all with different dealers you don't.
