Need to replace Polo with something quicker

We bought our 20 year old daughter a 2011 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (five-door) in 2015. Whilst it is economical and good to drive, it is slow on motorways, has a small boot and is not powerful enough. What would you recommend to replace the Polo with?

She could go to a new model Fabia 1.2TSI 90 or 110. Smaller, a Citroen C1 or Peugeot 108 1.2 Puretech.
