Advice on buying a used automatic car
Hi John,
Please can you help me point to the car that is economical in maintenance, pleasure in driving, comfort and has a good re-sale value. I'm looking for an Auto transmission car between the models I mentioned. I am little inclined to Civic due to the boot space and the equipment, but I wasn't sure if I'm making the right choice. It would be great if you could specify the engine size too. My budget is GBP8000.00 but can stretch by a few hundred pounds. Also, this may not be ideal but need your advice in buying the car at the dealer or at the re-sale brands like CarGiant.
Many Thanks,
Praveen

A Civic 1.8iVTEC is the best on your list because it is by far the most reliable car and have by far the most reliable transmission, which is torque converter rather than twin clutch DSG/s-tronic/Powershift. With its Magic seats it's also more spacious and practical inside. The problem some people have is its controversial body that sacrifices looks for aerodynamic efficiency. CarGiant is generally cheaper for ex-fleet cars and fully complies with consumer laws.
