Nissan Qashqai - petrol or diesel?

I want to buy a new Nissan Qashqai. Which engine is best? Would the 1.6 diesel still be a good buy?

Some good new petrol engines. The 1.2DIG-T is a bit weak, but very economical. The 1.6DIG-T is fine and still very economical.
