Buying a new Crossover - what would you recommend?

I want to buy a new crossover, but cannot decide on what car to buy. I want something that’s fun to drive, with good fuel economy and low road tax. I’m open to petrol or diesel, but concerned about DPFs on diesel models.

The Qashai 1.2DIG-T works as an economical 2WD crossover carrying one or two people: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/nissan/nissan-qash.../

Obviously the diesel has more torque and the availability of automatic transmission and 4WD: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/nissan/nissan-qash.../

A more powerful 1.6DCI and a 150PS DIG-T petrol model are on the way. The diesel engines used have the latest heat management technology so are less likely to suffer DPF problems.
