Parts delay for insurance repair

having been shunted in rear whilst stationary before Christams , my friend's Ecosport needs replacement hatch door. Other driver admits full responsibility but Ford garage say replacement parts could be 6 months or more. Car driveable but want it fixed. Any suggestions?

The parts have to come from Brasil and Ford UK has dropped the fitment of the spare wheel to the rear door so it's now a non standard part. You could try breakers throughout Europe for a replacement because all EcoSport doors hinge on the left. They didn't change that for RHD.
