Qashqai 1.2 Petrol Auto - what do you think of it?
I like to know what you think of the new Qashqai 1.2 petrol automatic model.
We're a family of four and have a very low annual mileage with driving for short trips mainly in urban areas. I'm thinking of buying an used new shape Qashqai this year.
I like to look of new Qashqai with the higher driving position and lower running costs but wondered about its reliability, years ago Nissan used to be known for Japanese reliability. My first car was a Nissan Cherry but since then I drove cars from Ford, Toyota and currently Honda.
I would love to consider new Honda HRV 1.5 petrol Auto but it would be too expensive even used. The Honda new shape HRV 2.0 Auto Petrol has high running costs, that's why I'm considering the Qashqai. I did consider the RAV4 but don't like its looks.

The 1.2DIG-T is economical and smooth but a bit underpowered just with a driver aboard: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/nissan/nissan-qash.../ Haven't driven it with a CVT auto and don't want to. Unfortunately, on the basis of reports from readers, Nissan's CVT had not been reliable. The 1.6DIG-T manual is a far better bet.
