Change or keep current Focus?
I own a 2012 (62) Ford Focus Zetec S 1.6 TDCi which is my third Focus to date.
I appreciate a lot of this is personal opinion but would value your take on whether or not to keep the current car which has a DPF, 30,000 miles on the clock and 2 years loan remaining. If I trade in now I will have around £1500 against a new model on PCP and likely opt for an EcoBoost as annual mileage is reducing. If I keep the car which I enjoy a great deal I will have greater equity at the end but I fear I no longer have the confidence I did in running an 'older' car if there could be significant expense attached.

Another reader reported today of a failed turbo on a 2011 Focus 1.6 TDCI at 93k miles. Probably due to carbing up of the oil feed and oil return pipe to and from the turbo bearings. Plenty of reports of other disasters, but the numbers have to be read in context of around 100,000 Focus sales a year. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/ford/focus-2011/?sec.../ I'd chop it in for a new PCP on a petrol model before the big bills come in because while you'll lose on depreciation you won't lose on money for big bills that you can never get back and won't suffer the inconvenience of a car off the road being fixed.
