Rust on Hyundai ix20 - what should I be prepared to put up with?

I have noticed rust on my ix20 which I can't remove with polishing. My dealership is coming up with reasons it probably won't be covered on the warranty, but some of it is very fine and seems to be appearing all over the panels and some is quite bad around the wheel arches. Should I put up with their response - is rust normal on a 60 reg white car, or should I try and take it further?

A 60 reg won't be covered by the 3 year paint warranty. But if the rust is coming through the metal it should be covered by the body warranty. Have been a lot of problems with white painted Dacias built in India. First I've heard of the same thing on a Hyundai. With water-based paint it would well be due to the quality of the paint and the thickness of the solvent-based clearcoat on top.
