Buying new small family car?
I am looking at buying a new car either the A3 or Mazda 3 which would you recommend overall has a package eg. reliability, Longevity , comfort, Appearance and resale value , running costs?

The A3 1.4 TSI 150 ACT has a wonderful engine: smooth, with plenty of torque from low revs and economical. Mazda gives you a choice of a fairly flat 120PS 2.0 litre engine, or a decently powerful 163PS 2.0 engine. As a package, I prefer the Mazda 3 2.0 163PS to the A3 because I like the 'feel' of the car better, but I wouldn't get into an argument about it.
