Faulty second hand car
I bought a car last month and it ended up with a faulty turbo a week after. I put a deposit towards it on the 12th, the car passed the MOT on the 14th and I went and paid the rest. I test drove it both times, the car was working fine, I drove to work on the 24th and it was losing power. The turbo was dead, it was new, replaced recently but they had not changed the oil filter and it had clogged.
I called the dealership and at first the refused to do anything about it. I kept pressuring them and they agreed to pay half of the cost of repair. I was told by the garage that detected the fault that I shouldn't have to pay for anything at this point so I contacted the citizens advice and I sent them a letter the next day asking for a full refund.
What are my options at this point?

Your rights are here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ If they won't play ball, take them to court. Unfortunately that means no car until the case is resolved (you can't drive it anyway with a duff turbo). What probably happened was that the turbo was replaced but not the coked up oil feed pipe to the turbo bearing and cokes up oil return pipe which were the reasons why the original and the replacement turbo failed.
