Autoprotect Warranty
I have recently had a problem with the convertible roof of my Alfa Spider which has now been repaired by Mangoletsi Alfa Romeo Dealership in Knutsford (who I would recommend for their customer service). They replaced two flap motors at a cost of £363.77 which I paid.
When I originally bought the car in August 2014 the mileage was 14,076 and after checking when the next service was due on the car computer this was confirmed as being at 36,000 miles. I purchased an autoprotect warranty at the same time, I had the car serviced at 35,300 miles as instructed by the computer dashboard.
Autoprotect will not cover my claim as they say the car should have been serviced at 18,000 miles, how would I know this as this had not been explained or have I received any paperwork regarding their terms and conditions.
According to them the warranty is no invalid, I feel that they should settle my claim or refund me the cost of their policy at £300.

Every car needs a service with oil and filter change at least every 12 months or every 10,000 miles whichever comes first. If the dealer did not tell you this the dealer has failed you. If I was the warranty insurer I would have made the same decision it did. It's patently ridiculous to expect a car to go from 14,076 miles to 35,300 miles without a service.
