Is the Volkswagen ID3 a good buy?

I'm thinking about a used 58Kw ID 3 on a 71 plate, I've heard there are reliability issues with some of the components, my wife's Enyaq recently needed to have a regulator replaced under warranty. am I right in thinking these share the same components. Would these be covered by an extended warranty?

The reliability of the Volkswagen ID.3 has been somewhat mixed, although a lot of problems that owners have experienced have been software related, and frequent updates have solved many of the issues. Later cars are better in this respect, as the launch of the ID.3 occurred just before Covid which caused problems with component supply. There is some parts commonality between the ID.3 and Enyaq as they share the Volkswagen MEB platform. An extended warranty is a sensible option, but it would be worth reading the terms and conditions carefully to ensure what is and is not covered by the warranty.
