How can I improve my Octavia's fuel economy?
I have a 2013 Skoda Octavia 2.0 diesel. However, while my old Octavia gave 65mpg, I find the new model to struggle to get past 50mpg.
I understand that I can get the "brain" remapped? Is this true? Will it impact my warranty?

A remap will void your warranty and must be declared to your insurer who will probably increase the premium. A 2013 might have the latest EA889 BMT manifold in head engine.
If you run it exclusively on Shell V-Power Nitro Plus the mpg should improve by as much as 5mpg, which should pay for the increased cost of the fuel as well as keep the engine clean and problem free. There have been other reports of poorer fuel economy from this engine than from the previous 2.0TDI.
