Can I drive a car onto a ferry with no tax or MoT?

I live in Northern Ireland and Im thinking of buying a car in Scotland. The current owner can deliver it as far as Stranraer. I can have it towed away once it gets to Larne. Would I be able to drive it on and off the ferry with no tax or MoT?

It won't be insured either. And even if the port is not a public road it is still a public place.
