Why does the engine cut out on my Astra?
My 1998 Vauxhall Astra keeps cutting out. After stalling I can hear the fuel pump running. Wen switching the ignition off and then on again, the fuel pump keeps on running - it does not just prime and switch off like usual. Any ideas?

Well have you tried to diagnose the fault as this might then give a code ( ie P ---- 4 numbers) which will take out the guessing situation).
Other than that we would suggest you check the camshaft sensor.
If okay then you can get the ECU checked out ( try ECU testing .com) who will test and repair as necessary.
