Ford Fiesta misfire
I have a year 2000 Ford Fiesta 1.25 petrol. Recently it has developed a misfire, I tried pulling the leads off with the car ticking over and number three cylinder is the problem. The car had new plugs a couple of months ago.
I have since replaced plug leads with no difference and now replaced coil pack but still have the same problem. Plugs on cylinders 1,2 and 4 are all the correct biscuit colour but number 3 plug is black and sooty and dry looking. Any ideas?

Reads like a failed piston oil ring or, if you're luckier, a failed valve stem oil seal.
