Please advise your readers to inform their insurance companies after having surgery.

Thank you for your excellent information relating to buying a BMW 530D. I found it very useful as I've just purchased a used example. I would like to advise your readers to be as transparent as possible when taking out car insurance and think twice about omitting changes in medical conditions. I underwent angioplasty (a stent was fitted), and at the time I asked my consultant whether my insurance company should be advised and was informed it was not necessary. More recently I underwent a total elbow replacement, which has been successful. However, on looking to insure the BMW I disclosed the changes, only to discover my original insurer was not prepared to provide cover. Cover was eventually found at higher cost with another insurance provider. It is clear that had I experienced an accident and the medical conditions come to light, I would not have been covered. The answer is to disclose and not trust the medics.
