Speeding fine - is there a 14 day limit?

Is there a maximum period between being caught speeding and the issue of a speeding fine notice?

The NIP must be issued to the registered keeper of the car within 14 days. After that there is no limit. So if you were driving a car not registered to you and the registered keeper gave your name as the driver the notice could take 6 - 12 months to come through to you.
