A franchised dealer, after inspection by a technician who I know to be experienced, quoted me £180 to replace a pipe and thus repair my air conditioning. Prior to leaving my car at the garage another service desk employee phoned to say the quote was incorrect, the wrong part had been quoted for and labour wasn't included.

As a result the estimate was for £550. It was a lie in as much as the same part number was quoted and the £180 did include labour. The increase was simply listed as investigative works and was £277 + vat. It doesn't seem plausible as the technician had already identified the fault. Can they be named and shamed? If I complain and accuse them of being dodgy on your forum could I be sued?
