Renault Kangoo conversion power loss

I own a Renault Kangoo 1.6 petrol auto wav conversion. This vehicle has done 3500 miles. Three weeks ago the engine was hesitating at around 30mph. One week ago the car had a slight fuel leak which was attributed to a full fuel tank despite the RAC saying there should be no leak at all.

The car was returned today. Two hours later there was a complete loss of acceleration whilst in drive, along with the brakes failing which I then had to press severely to stop the vehicle. The conversion dealer has said their computer can find no fault. Can you help?

I think fuel tank related. Overfilling might have choked the carbon canister that prevents petrol fumes from being emitted into the atmosphere. But with no air able to enter the tank, the low pressure fuel tank lifter pump cannot pump fuel to the engine injection pump.

Take the fuel cap off and it will probably run. If so, you need to ask for the fuel tank breather to be attended to. Engine diagnostics can only show low fuel pressure. It can never pinpoint the source of a problem with the fuel tank or low pressure pump. Any dealer who relies solely on electronic diagnostics is both thick and useless.
