What does MMT mean?
I am replacing my 2001 Toyota Yaris Auto but am confused by MMT. What does it mean and how is it different from cars without this spec?

It stands for 'Multimode Manual Transmission' which, more understandably, means 'automated manual'. It is not a true automatic. Instead it has a system of servos and electric motors that simulate a driver changing gear. They can take a bit of getting used to, and often require expensive repairs after four years or so.
