Vauxhall Vectra alarm problem

The alarm siren on my 2008 Vauxhall Vectra keeps going off shortly after locking with the keyfob. If I choose to lock the doors manually from the inside then use the key to manually lock the driver door (which leaves the boot unlocked of course) then obviously the alarm isn't activated and my car is not technically safe to leave parked but this does temporarily solve the middle of the night siren and neighbour rants. Can you help?

Quite a common problem with Vauxhalls. Blame the interior volumetric sensor.

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
