Buying a new car - what is recommended?

I am 85, male and fit. I bought a new Peugeot 308 SE HDI (136) in 2008, and have driven only 22,000 miles.

I use my car for short shopping trips, and for journeys of about 150 miles every six weeks or so (generally with no passengers). Do you recommend getting another car (new) in replacement?

I would prefer in-built sat nav, air con, front & rear parking aids. I am thinking of spending about £20,000 to £25,000.

My 89 year old dad loves his Toyota Auris HSD, used on twice daily six mile runs there and back that seems to be sufficient to keep the battery pack fully charged. Smaller, you could go down to a Yaris HSD:
