Employer wants to give me a used company car - what should I do?
I have recently opted for a company car. I have chosen the vehicle, upgrades and submitted the paperwork to my transport department. However, two weeks later, I have been told that a vehicle is available as a member of staff is leaving.
My employer is asking me to take this car instead, but it is two years older and has 50,000 miles on the clock. The basic interior spec is also not what I was expecting either. What are my options?

Obviously the company cannot fairly charge you the same out of your salary for what is effectively a second hand car, and you need to also carefully check the emissions and find out exactly what they will mean in terms of BIK tax.
Don't be awkward. Go in prepared to negotiate. You have no choice because if they think they can walk over you in this matter, they will in everything else.
