What do you think about BMW's winter tyre and wheel offer?
Having just bought a BMW 320d xDrive Touring I am starting to think about winter tyres. BMW recommend I have 16-inch wheels against 17-inch fitted as standard. They are offering four steel wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak runflat tyres for £912 with a one off payment of £50 for fitting and storage for the life of the car in my hands. Probably an extortionate BMW price, but your guidance will be much appreciated. Are these tyres any good and can they be used on motorways in the usual manner?

Excellent offer. Go for it. Positive review here: www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Bridgestone/Blizzak-LM3...m. The alternative would be to fit Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons all round and leave them on all year. But, since you already have a new set of summer tyres, it makes more sense to go for the BMW offer. You have to tell your insurer about the ‘modification’ and if you get any unjustified trouble, switch insurers.
