The brakes are wearing out on my Jaguar XF that I recently bought - is the selling garage liable to replace them?
I bought a 2010 Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 petrol on 27 February from an independent garage. It still had three weeks of manufacturer warranty, so I took it to a local dealership in Warrington (Ryebrook) to have the driver’s window sorted before this ran out. On collecting the vehicle they advised me the front and rear discs and pads were on the minimum and would need replacing within 3000 miles at a quoted cost of £623. The car had 47,000 miles and I had done approx 350 miles in the vehicle. Do I have any redress with the supplying garage? I was more than happy with the service and travelled 120 miles to buy, as it was a favourable price, £15,995. I don't wish to appear mercenary with the garage but hadn't expected this routine expense so soon, so if I have grounds how would you suggest I proceed?

No. You bought a used car, and the brakes were legal and safe at the date of purchase, but will now need replacing within 3000 miles. That's fair enough.
