Bought a used car, but brakes worn out after just one month - who' should pay?
Last month I purchased a 2002 Volvo V70 auto (127,000 miles) from a local dealer. After a few weeks of running the car I noticed some brake fading, so had it checked at my local garage. I have now been told that the front brake discs would fail the MoT based on the depth of wear.
The seller supplied a three month warranty, but it only covers component failures only and they’re refusing to accept any responsibility for any repair costs. What can I do?

If when the car was sold to you it was in roadworthy condition, then the dealer is not liable to replace the worn discs and I very much doubt that he will. As a gesture, he might contribute the labour of fitting them if you supply the new discs.
