Where can I obtain good insurance for a hire car driven abroad?
I am intending to travel to Menorca and to Sicily this year. On both occasions I shall be hiring a car at the airport from the likes of Avis and Hertz. I understand that the CDW cover that they offer as standard is fairly poor but that the cost of "uprating" is very high when taken out at the time. Can you recommend an organisation in the UK from whom I might obtain enhanced cover insurance at a reasonable price?

A UK insurer is www.insurance4carhire.co.uk. The problem is that if you don't take out the rental company CDW, they are more likely to 'find' faults with the car when you return it.
