Can I use winter tyres all year round?

In considering the benefits of winter tyres, is there any reason I should not use them all year round? I can buy them in exactly the specification for my car, which is 225/55R18 98V. My mileage is 15,000pa, mainly on country roads.

Testing has shown that the current best winter tyres, Continental WinterContact TS850s, are not only the best winter tyres but are also suitable for year round use. See www.tyrereviews.co.uk
