Can we buy a left-hand drive car in the UK and export it to Spain?
We are buying a small property near Torrevieja, Spain and think we would like to have a small car to use during visits - about three times a year. We have heard that secondhand cars in Spain are very expensive and would welcome your thoughts and advice. Is it possible to buy a small left-hand drive car here in UK? We presumably would have to register it in Spain and have Spanish plates? Any help will be very much appreciated.

You can buy a LHD car here, import it to Spain and, if you have a good Spanish ‘assessor’, he/she can help you to register it in Spain. But, of course, the price of the LHD car will reflect prices generally in mainland Europe and these are generally higher than in the UK. The best place to go is: www.lhdplace.co.uk.
