Best reliable used car for £2000?
I have had my Smart Car from new, (2002) I was hit from behind last week and I suspect that my insurers will want to write it off, so I may find myself having to buy a replacement in a hurry.
I've been very happy with the Smart, particularly the good visibility and high driving position, but would like a little more acceleration, and am keen to get something which is safe and reliable. With a budget of £1500 - £2000, what would you recommend? Is a five or six year old Ford Fiesta likely to be a reasonable choice?

One of your answers to "Best car for £1000?" is to buy a "Ford Fiesta 1.25". Do you mean the Ford Fiesta 1995 to 2002 model?
A few months ago you answered a question about a commuter car for around £3000 and recommended the Ford Fiesta 1.25. Is that the Zetec model? What year and or mileage should I be looking for?
