Which used small car is best for reliability?

My daughter wants to buy a small used car, built from 2004 to 2008. She really likes Fords, so wants a Fiesta with a 1.25 or 1.4 petrol engine. However, I've suggested the Honda Jazz, which seems very popular and reliable.

Other contenders are the Skoda Fabia and the Grande Punto. Equipment and style for the period is good on the Punto. I think the Punto is underated but questions on reliability remain. Which car would you recommend?

Keep the Fiestas and Jazz on the list, add the Toyota Yaris 1.3, drop the Grande Punto and Fabia (andPolo and Ibiza).
