Parking ticket for taking up two spaces - can I appeal?

I have received a parking ticket from my local supermarket. The ticket states that I was taking up two spaces by being over the lines into another bay. When I queried it and they told me why it had been issued I was very surprised as I truly did not know that what I did was an offence. The ticket is £60, but is reduced to £30 if I pay quickly. What should I do?

Clearcut. You were parked over the lines. Could be you were forced over the lines by another car parked over the lines, but you were still parked over the lines. I'd pay the £30 and get rid of the problem.
