Warped brake discs after 7000 miles - should the dealer pay for replacements?

I am the owner of a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Saloon, with the performance pack and uprated brakes. I have only owned the car a few months and, last week, I noticed a very slight wheel wobble when gently braking from around 50mph.

The dealer tells me that the brake discs are warped and therefore need replacing, but that this is not an item that can be claimed under warranty. The car has only covered 7500 miles and I’m very disappointed.

I mentioned the Sale of Goods Act, merchantable quality, fit for intended purpose and that it must be a manufacturing defect, but the dealer was insistent that I pay for the repairs. Where do I stand on this?

It's probably because of the heat generated by them and then sitting on the brakes after a long brake, for example at a junction at the bottom of the hill or at a roundabout. The clamped section of disc cannot cool at the same rate as the rest of the disc. This is one of the reasons why carbo-ceramic discs are usually fitted either as original equipment or as options on cars of this level of performance.
