My TomTom Go won't go - can it be repaired?
My TomTom Go 700 won't Go. I bought it about five years ago and have used it very little, maybe three or four times a year, but I've found it an invaluable aid (and safety feature) for detailed navigation when my expert navigator wife is not in the passenger seat. It has suddenly ceased to switch on, and I suspect a faulty switch. Halfords tells me that if I send it to TomTom they will charge me £100 before looking at it and that I should bin it. We, being members of the older generation, prefer to mend rather than rubbish an article that functioned normally until two weeks ago, especially after spending £75 updating maps recently. Do you know of a repairer?

Sorry, no. Unless it's the rechargeable battery that needs to be replaced, in which case these people could help: www.satnavupdates.co.uk
If it's not the battery and if Satnavupdates.co.uk cannot fix it cheaply, then the best thing to do is scrap it and buy a new one that will have the new mapping anyway.
