Why won't Skoda offer this software and shim adjustment for Roomster drivers with DSG problems?
I was interested in the letter from MG re problems with his Skoda with 1.2TSI and DSG box. Having bought a Roomster in December 2010 with the same engine and gearbox, I can understand his problem with hesitation when accelerating from a slow start, at roundabouts, say. However, after months of complaining I discovered a Skoda users' website with information about a software program and shim adjustment to the turbo (small metal plate) which would correct this problem. I contacted my dealer (he hadn't contacted me) and had the correction made. Ever since, the car works a treat - no disturbing hesitation at all now. One would have thought that Skoda would have informed all affected owners of this update.

Thank you. DB of Warrington also gave wind of this to me today and I added to the car by car entries for the Fabia, Roomster and Yeti as follows:
21-10-2012: Hesitation of 2011MY 1.2TSI with 7-Speed DSG can sometimes be cured by a turbo shim modification and software update to cure the problem, but that Skoda only makes it available if owners report, even if the car is on Skoda's database as being susceptible to the problem.
I'm very surprised that Skoda has not contacted owners, and if anyone is injured or killed as a result, Skoda could be held liable. I’m even more surprised that (so far) VOSA has not issued a vehicle safety recall for this dangerous fault.
