Should I be towing with a single clutch automated manual Citroen?
The power steering pump of my Citroen C4 1.6HDI EGS has failed. Although only a year out of warranty, Citroen is totally disinterested, stating that it has not been serviced by a Citroen dealer which is rather a long way from where I live. Had it been serviced by a Citroen dealer it would have made no difference to the failure. I bought an automatic because I tow (70 per cent of the manufacturer's maximum recommended limit) and did not want a clutch. It raises a question whether this type of transmission is suitable for towing.

I would not tow with a single clutch automated manual. Your car is not and never was an automatic. It has a standard gearbox and clutch controlled by actuators and an electric motor to emulate the action of a driver changing gear.
