My Renault Scenic automatic won't change up when cold - why is this?
I purchased a Renault Scenic 1.5DCI EDC from a Renault dealer at six months old and was informed that the previous owner could not get on with the auto gearbox. I have found the vehicle has performed superbly but, very recently, on starting off at the beginning of the day I have found the gearbox reluctant to change up. This goes on for up to minutes not reaching more than 15 or 20mph and then works fine for the rest of the day. I have the vehicle booked in with Renault for investigation next week. Bearing in mind the short period the original owner had the vehicle, have you heard of any problems with this engine/gearbox from your readers?

I think the reason is that the system is programmed to get the engine to temperature before the transmission will change up and allow the engine to run at lower revs. This is to prevent the DPF getting clogged.
