Will I get my money back from Autolaw following the company's closure?
I am having considerable problems with Autolaw. I forwarded a series of e-mails and got a reply for Charlotte de'Luss to sort it out. That was about three weeks ago. I rang the number on my invoice only to hear that it is now an unused number. I have found out the company that has my legal cover and spoken to David Blakemore of Integrity Claims Management, tel 0208 556 6633, so if I need legal help I know who will help. The problem is 1: I haven't got my money back or any sort of reply and 2: if anyone else has this policy and they need help they could be in real trouble. It also highlights motor insurance legal cover; the companies sell on cover and you don't know.

Autolaw has actually been settling/sorting out the backlog of cases, but the nature of these means that they are not all easily resolved. Many clients do not accept reasonable settlements, then complain that Autolaw has not done its job, when it has in fact given them excellent value for money. Additionally may of the plaintiff’s mailers have trashed reply emails from Autolaw as SPAM, so Autolaw thinks it has replied but does not know its reply never got through. Finally, Autolaw had some problems with an employee acting illegally.
