Garage damaged car during service but will accept no responsibility.
I took my car to Evans Halshaw for a complimentary oil and filter change after purchasing it there as a used car. My car had no marks or scratches or technical problems on it when I dropped it off.
When they returned it to me it had a large dent and scuff on the rear driver side bumper and the washer bottle was leaking. When I complained they showed me a sheet saying that the scuff and dent were there when I bought it and that the washer bottle was already leaking.
They denied all knowledge of the problems and refused to take responsibility for repair. The car wasn't checked over with me present and I haven't signed anything to agreed with their findings.
What is my next step? I can categorically state that the garage is responsible for the damage and leak but don't seem to have a leg to stand on as far as they are concerned. Do you have any advice?

If you insist that the garage damaged your car, then take the matter to www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and let a judge decide.
