Sluggish starting on a Ford Focus - what could it be?
The car has done 40,000 miles. The blow-plugs have been renewed yet still the engine is reluctant to fire-up first-thing in the morning.
It requires a long churn.
It starts briskly for the rest of the day.
Could it be wear in the high-pressure pump?
Or is there a return valve which is deficient? Any ideas please?

Most likely to be a small airleak into the fuel delivery system.
