Buying a long lasting car?
My last 3 cars (all manuals) have each achieved 270k over 10 years driving at little cost (Scirocco and two diesels - a 405 estate and Passat estate) before the first two were passed on for another three years service with new owners.
I need a large estate that will be a good bet for 10 honest years service - no more high mileage commuting to London (retired).
Currently run scared from Volkswagen family - DPF and DSG. Currently thinking of new Mercedes-Benz E Class estate - automatic that will accommodate a dog cage.
