Estaters quo

I have a 2002 Mercedes E430 Avantgarde auto Estate, mileage now 175,000. I have owned the car since new and do not have any finance outstanding. I have always serviced the car with Mercedes. My car is in pretty good nick considering its age. I mailed you in 2006 and in 2008 on the subject of changing the car and you recommended holding onto it, which I have done. The new Mercedes E class Estate (the one that arrived in February) looks pretty interesting. There appears to be a diesel and a petrol version. The 250 and 350 engine sizes would be my preference. So do you think now is the time to swap my car for the new Mercedes E Class? If I did swap, which should I get: either 250 or 350, petrol or diesel? Failing the new Mercedes what other cars would you recommend?

Though undeniably popular where I live (not far from MB World) I don’t find the new W212 E Class as good looking as the previous W211. An alternative is the new BMW F11 530D Touring, video tested here on 4 door saloon format, that is as good looking as its predecessor was a bit weird: www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/road-tests/bmw/bmw-f10-5...s
