New or used small car?
I am about to move away from home and need a car for myself for the first time. My Dad has offered to sell me his Mazda 2 10 reg or help me buy an alternative.
As most of my driving will be around Sheffield I am looking at the new Kia Picanto due to its economy, no road tax, 7 year warranty and 1 years insurance for £99. The Mazda would require tax, warranty (should I decide to buy one), and although it is only 3 years old, I wonder would I be better off with the Kia?

The Mazda 2 is much more fun to drive than the Picanto. But a 3 year old will be £100 tax, not the £30 of more recent Mazda 2s.

Enjoyable and fun to drive with economical engines. Feels well built. Ride quality was improved for 2011.
